Raben Trans European Hungary made an investment of 7.5 million euros (almost three billion forints) in Dunaharaszt, where it expanded the logistics transshipment warehouse area by 75 percent to 7,000 square meters. The new logistics facility of the Hungarian branch of the international company group with Dutch roots was handed over on Wednesday. Csaba Árvai, the managing director of Raben Trans European Hungary Kft., said at the handover ceremony: the investment contributes to the future growth of the company’s international groupage transport activities. Together with the new, approximately 3,400 square meter facility, the company has enough cross-dock capacity to keep up with the expected increase in traffic over the next five years, he added.
According to the managing director, the strategically located transshipment center is crucial for the domestic and European network. During the investment, the warehouse area was expanded by 3,400 square meters, the office area by 1,000 square meters, and a solar system was installed on the building. With the expansion, the number of loading gates increased to 70.
According to Csaba Árvai, 2,500-3,500 pallets of goods were handled daily in the hall used until now. With the capacity expansion, not only this quantity, but also the number of vehicles served can increase by 20-30 percent, reaching a hundred per day. Csaba Árvai added that the center can accommodate any type of vehicle, from vans to full-sized semi-trailer trucks, and the larger interior space makes it easier to move materials.
