MySpirit Kft. and Chinese company Loncin Holding have signed a cooperation agreement with the assistance of the Hungarian National Trading House. Thanks to the cooperation, the Hungarian company’s expertise is set to contribute to the successful implementation of the Chinese government’s “Healthy China 2030” development plan.

Owing to the country’s natural assets, as far as thermal technology, thermal medicine and thermal water management are concerned, Hungary undoubtedly ranks among the best in the world. Innovative products and services offered by this sector, as well as the marketable expertise provided by industry representatives are drawing ever growing demand.

Having realized the importance of the above, the Hungarian National Trading House (MNKH) places particular emphasis on positioning Hungarian products and services related to water management on global markets, hand in hand with Hungary’s embassies and a network of foreign trade attachés overseas. Last year, MNKH arranged Loncin Holding’s high-level expert delegation to visit Hungary with a view to introducing executives of the organisation responsible for implementing Healthy China 2030 to innovative Hungarian technologies in water management; another purpose of the trip was to explore opportunities for Hungarian businesses to get involved in the thermal bath development project launched within the Healthy China 2030 programme.

With MNKH’s active involvement, the delegation had talks with representatives of Spirit Hotel; as a result, the Hungarian company got the assignment to carry out different measurement tasks concerning the thermal fountain of the cave bath, which is to be constructed in the first phase of the project.

Knowledge Transfer from Hungary to China

Following these successful talks, the Chinese partner decided to sign a cooperation agreement with Spirit Hotel’s MySpirit project company and the Hungarian National Trading House at the Economic and Trade Forum between China and 16 Central-Eastern European countries in Budapest.

“In terms of water management and related engineering services, Hungary assumes a crucial role. The success of MySpirit is a good example of how significant demand for Hungarian expertise is, considering that China, a key actor in the world economy, is asking our experts and engineers to provide professional oversight and support in one of the most significant investments of the past years”, Zsanett Oláh, Chief Executive Officer of the Hungarian National Trading House said.

Under the agreement, MySpirit will prepare the concept and the strategy for the project, and consult on the preparation, implementation and operation of wellness, spa and hotel projects, as well as coordinate the activities of Hungarian and Chinese specialists. MNKH wishes to promote effective cooperation and rapid and precise communication between the parties by offering and coordinating translation and interpreting services and consultations between the corporate partners.

“A number of prestigious Western European spa hotels were in the race to win the contract to provide these services, but once the contractor gained insight of, got familiar with and tested the perfectly balanced services of Spirit Hotel Thermal Spa*****superior as a whole, their choice was made; it has probably also helped that Spirit is a winner of the European Health and Spa Award and was honoured with many other international and Hungarian prizes”, pointed out András Kaisinger, Managing Director of Spirit Hotel Kft.

The Chinese partner has also indicated that once this project is successfully implemented, they expect to work with Hungarian experts and engineers on a thermal complex development worth over HUF 400 billion.
