  3. ZalaZONE Innovation Day – Hungary’s biggest celebration of mobility innovation

320 participants representing the economy, education, and politics attended the IV. ZalaZONE Innovation Day on 30. September held on the ZalaZONE Conference and Event Center.

The main goal of the event – which began by the welcome speech by Dr. Zsófia Koncz, Deputy Minister of Technology and Industry – was to provide a platform for our strategic academic and business partners to present their research results related to the test track. It was also an excellent opportunity to strengthen the university-centered innovation ecosystem and create a dialogue between the academic and business partners.

Highlight program was the Hungarian Drone Coalition’s Professional day, with lectures on unmanned aerial vehicles and the demonstration of the interaction between ground and aerial vehicles.

The participants could listen to presentations on the Hungarian drone strategy, innovative meteorological data collection, cooperation between Hungarian drones and the results of the National Laboratory of Autonomous systems. The researchers of the University of Szeged held an impressive visual presentation on the sensory measurements of human reaction traveling in an autonomous vehicle.

In the afternoon, demonstrations of ground and air vehicles took place on different track modules of the Proving Ground, and in the hall and gallery of the conference center, 21 partners presented their research results and developments to the interested visitors.

More than 200 Local school and university students from Budapest also visited the event and took part in the interactive demonstrations.

One of the most interesting exhibition objects was the 2022 racing car of the BME Formula Racing Team that achieved third place in the electric category at the Formula Student Germany competition.
