The MassVentil System is a new Hungarian Healthcare invention that could save lives. Μany people that have been infected with COVID-19 could have been saved by a modular mass ventilator system, which, under critical circumstances, can be used to simultaneously ventilate a large number of coronavirus patients in critical condition. The system is recently developed by Hungarian Research & Development engineers, doctors, and mathematicians. The revolutionary invention can play a very important role in the global fight against the spread of COVID-19.

The Most Important Benefits of the MassVentil concept is that it consists of a central duct system and many personal ventilator modules that can be used in individual patients. The central inhalation and exhalation duct system supplies air to and collects gases from all the personal ventilator modules for ventilating more patients at the same time.

Exhaled infectious air exits into the common hospital airspace by the respiratory equipment currently in use, whereby doctors and nurses are at increased risk due to working in air contaminated with high concentrations of viruses. In the MassVentil concept, the medical ventilator removes (and filters) exhaled infectious air from the common airspace, significantly reducing the risk of infection for nursing staff, providing safer working conditions. Furthermore, the mass medical ventilator is designed to be employed ad-hoc in an out-of-hospital environment without the need for advanced hospital infrastructure.

It could save thousands of lives worldwide during periods of any pandemic that will cause acute respiratory problems, such as the current COVID-19.

The project is under the auspices of the Hungarian government and the participation of international researchers, engineers, professors, and students from various universities around the world, who are all contributing to the success of the project’s development.
