The opening of the exhibition “Parallel Connections” was held on Wednesday 3 October 2018 at the Municipal Gallery “D. Mytaras”, in the presence of a multitude of people. The Mayor of Chalkida, Christos Pagonis, attended as well as the Ambassador of Hungary, Mr. Erik Haupt.

The exhibition is held in collaboration with the Embassy of Hungary in Athens, for the European Year of Cultural Heritage and it presents the work of Ákos Révész and János Lipovics from Hungary and Apostolis Zolwtakis from Greece.

The Mayor of Chalkida congratulated the artists and referred to the excellent relationship that has been developed between the Μunicipality of Chalkidα and the Embassy of Hungary in Greece, proof of which is the co-organization of this event. The exhibition brings together Greek and Hungarian artists in Chalkida while taking note of the efforts of the Municipality’s for the creation of institutions and actions that upgrade the cultural life of the City

The Hungarian Ambassador to Greece, Mr. Erik Haupt, said that only a few months after the commemoration of the great Hungarian István Széchenyi that was held at the fortress “Karababa” in Chalkida, the exhibition “Parallel Connections” is another step in the strengthening of relations of Greece and Hungary through the Municipality of Chalkida and the Embassy of Hungary in Athens.

The exhibition will remain at the Municipal Gallery “D. Mytaras” until January 13th, 2019. Opening hours: TuesdayFriday: 10:00-12:30 & 18:00-20:00
