The latest electric Ikarus bus, the 80E, was recently presented at the University of Belgrade. The event was attended by Hungarian Ambassador József Magyar and Dejan Popović, President of the Council of the Energy Agency of the Republic of Serbia, writes vezess.hu. Roland Fehér, CEO of Ikarus, highlighted the international success of the 80E model and its potential in Belgrade, stating, “we can present a quality product that Hungary can be proud of. Ikarus’ electric buses can play a key role in the development of sustainable transport in the region.”

The presentation marks a significant step in the company’s efforts to promote green transportation in Serbia.

The Ikarus 80E is being showcased in Belgrade as part of ongoing efforts to promote sustainable urban transport. The company hopes the bus will soon be operational in the Serbian capital, contributing to Belgrade’s shift towards green public transport. The participants at the event agreed that the successful implementation of electric buses also requires the development of necessary infrastructure.

The electric Ikarus 80E represents Hungary’s efforts to expand its green transport technology across the region, with hopes that Belgrade will soon adopt the innovative bus for its public transport system.
