Creative Hungary (formerly known as the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency) is launching a HUF 90 million (EUR 235,000) incubation program dedicated to domestic digital gaming companies. Domestic game developers can apply for funding of HUF 5-15 million (EUR 13-40,000) until January 31, 2026, the agency announced on Thursday. With a program that accompanies the entire innovation process, domestic startups, game development companies, and educational institutions with game development experience or new game ideas can receive support for the creation and market launch of video games published on global platforms such as Steam, Apple Store, and Google Play.

According to the announcement, the newly launched Game LAB, targeting the digital gaming industry, was preceded by comprehensive research conducted by the agency to map the current situation in the sector, as well as consultations with industry players. Feedback from entrepreneurs has shown that the domestic creative industry needs incubation programs that cover the entire development process and facilitate market launch, wrote the agency.
Game LAB is one of Creative Hungary’s first calls for proposals specifically targeting the domestic digital gaming industry. The aim of the program is to support the development of new, commercially ready online games for early access or demo versions on the world’s leading gaming platforms, with which the applicant will also enter the market.
Accordingly, Game LAB covers the entire innovation path of game development, accompanying the game creation process from concept creation through beta testing, to publication and preparation for market launch.
In addition, Creative Hungary provides the winning companies with branding, communication, and complex business strategy and market entry support professional mentoring with the involvement of experts with global competitive market experience, they wrote.
Participants have until the end of 2026, to develop their games ready for release, and three years to launch them on the market. Details of the application process can be found on the Creative Hungary website.
