The Hungarian Ambassador in Greece, Erik Haupt, whose ancestors came from Western Macedonia, met yesterday with the Regional Governor, Theodore Karypidis. Mr. Haupt, who the previous night participated in a special event of the Municipality of Voiou in Siatista, expressed his great pleasure for being in Western Macedonia in flawless Greek, explaining the link that connects the area to him and his ancestors, who left Greece for Hungary.
Mr. Karypidis, after having made a special reference to the issue of energy, using the example of Hungary, that according to his words “when in crisis, they privatized energy and then brought back to public scrutiny, resulting in prosperity and the achievement of significant results. He also pointed out that in a next phase there will be a more specific agenda for cooperation with Hungary in the scientific and business field.
