Special flooring maker Graboplast on Thursday inaugurated a 3m Euro, 2,400sqm SPC (Stone Polymer Composite) flooring plant at its base in Tatabanya, in western Hungary.
Graboplast is a Hungarian Floor covering manufacturer company with more than 120 years of existence. Graboplast has grown into the leading flooring manufactures company in Central Europe, and more than 90 percent of its revenues come from export markets. Graboplast’s products are manufactured using state-of-the-art technologies and are shipped to more than 100 countries on five continents. Graboplast’s product range is specialized in flooring products with high added value, such as public, show, sports, and automotive flooring, in addition to residential flooring. They use environmentally compatible raw materials in the manufacturing processes, while they fulfil the requirements of the European REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) regulation.
The investment was supported by a 317-million-forint government grant, contributing to the retention of more than 500 jobs, Peter Szijjártó, the minister of foreign affairs and trade, said at the ceremony. Szijjártó said the government continued to focus on supporting internationally competitive companies as a cornerstone of raising the country’s exports, a key element of the Hungarian economy. Fully 90 percent of Graboplast’s production goes into exports, he added.
