Some 100 dedicated collection sites for old greenhouse film will be set up around the country in the first half of the year, Minister of Agriculture István Nagy said at a press conference at recycling company Green Technológia, in Lébény (145 km northwest of Budapest) on Friday, according to agroinform.hu.
The government has earmarked HUF 280 million to support the rollout of the collection sites, Nagy said.
He noted that about 10,000 tonnes of waste greenhouse film accumulate in Hungary each year. Green Technológia is using technology developed by Csatári Plast to recycle greenhouse film waste.
